Job Information               
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for appointment as a Data Manager for the TB Programme Grant based at MRC Fajara. The post-holder will work closely with the database development team to ensure that the study databases meet the data collection needs of studies. S/he will develop, organise and implement quality control and cleaning processes of databases that require extensive liaison and tactful communication with field personnel as well as with other senior staff.

The appointment is up to 31st March 2015.

We seek someone with:

BSc or equivalent in computing, data management or a related subject.
MSc in Clinical Data Management or equivalent.
A minimum of 5 years experience in Data Manager with preference given to data management support for studies in related area of medical research in a senior role.
Previous experience of dealing accurately and efficiently with large volumes of data from varied sources in multidisciplinary research projects.
Excellent written and spoken English.
Good working knowledge of database management software (MS Access essential and SQL Server preferred).
Systematic approach and attention to detail.
Experience in training and supervising staff.
The ability to deal accurately and efficiently with a large volume of data.
The ability to conduct study activities according to the protocols.
The ability to work co-operatively in a team.
Understanding of the confidential nature of the work.
Experience in supporting electronic data capture processes and publications related to data management solutions for research will be added advantages.
The post will be in Grade 3 at a minimum gross salary of 44, 400 Dalasis per month excluding the displacement allowance.  The net salary (after tax) will be 35, 970 Dalasis per month.  For displaced staff the package will include additional allowances, furnished accommodation, annual flights to the base country and contribution to school fees for children.
