Job Description

    The overall responsibility of this position is managing and organizing the activities involved with the identification, acquisition, production and distribution of goods to clients

Duties includes but not limited to the following:

    Work with Engineering staff, to develop and implement supplier selection, qualification and procedures
    Develop and execute long term supplier agreements which establish partnerships with key suppliers to ensure continuity of supply, consistent quality and delivery, competitive pricing and a shared goal with mutual benefits for process/cost improvements.
    Forecast requirements and execute purchasing activities to meet demands
    Proactively support product development and production projects ,identifying and communicating new product demands, schedules, procurement needs and actions as well as status
    Work with internal and external suppliers to resolve material issues (shortages, emergency customer demands, etc.).
    Proactively provide material management support and communicate with appropriate parties on projects.
    Communicate, negotiate and coordinate events with business partners and service firms in a variety of sectors, including manufacturing, transportation and warehousing.
    Develop and implement new systems, best practices, inventory control, demand planning, and other optimizations in order to grow the business
    Understand customers' needs, service those needs, maintain and develop positive business relationships with a customer's key personnel involved in or directly relevant to supply chain activities.
    Develop annual plans with prioritization and participate in the development of the supply chain strategy for the organization.
    Manage or execute procurement related functions (e.g., develop and implement contract management and procurement frameworks, sourcing strategies, negotiate agreements, draft and manage contracts, etc.)
    Identify and manage risk within the supply chain, address tactical and strategic supply chain issues.
    Develop in depth knowledge of advances in supply chain technology/approaches and apply within the organization to improve supply chain processes.
    Establish supplier evaluation criteria, methods of analysis & make decisions in a fast paced changing environment.

Required Education, Experience, Skills and Knowledge

    Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in a related field from a reputable university.
    Minimum of 7 years in Supply Chain/Materials related field, preferably in a development, manufacturing or engineering environment.
    Candidate must not be less than 30 years of age.
    A related supply chain professional designation is usually required and international experience is considered an asset.
    Ability to interact with customers and suppliers in a professional manner.
    Flexibility, persistence, resourcefulness, an insatiable drive to succeed - an entrepreneurial spirit.
    Significant, relevant management and leadership experience in progressively responsible positions in a supply chain based environment is generally required.
